Connecticut is the best state for physician assistant pay, while Mississippi is the worst, according to 2018 data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

The top five:

• Connecticut: $125,610
• Washington: $123,980
• Alaska: $122,260
• Hawaii: $121,120
• California: $117,230

The bottom five:

• Alabama: $92,880
• Kentucky: $91,010
• Tennessee: $87,700
• Louisiana: $85,990
• Mississippi: $81,130
