Here are 33 benchmarks to know on physician ownership from a variety of sources within the industry.

VMG Health's 2017 Multi-Specialty ASC Intellimarker report calculated shareholder equity through subtracting the total liabilities from total assets. For ASCs, the mean total liabilities reach $1.9 million and the mean total assets are $3.3 million.

Shareholder equity

1. Mean: $2.3 million
2. 25th percentile: $1 million
3. Median: $1.8 million
4. 75th percentile: $2.8 million
5. 90th percentile: $4.5 million

Preferred ASC ownership from an equity standpoint

The Medicus Firm surveyed 2,219 medical professionals, including physicians and advanced practice clinicians in several specialties through its 2018 Physician Practice Preference & Relocation Survey.
