HealthCare Appraisers' 2018 ASC Valuation Survey provided insight on ASC value and characteristics.

Fifteen respondents representing over 700 surgery centers in the U.S. responded to HealthCare Appraisers' survey.

ASCs (or ASC interests) purchased during the last 12 months:
1. None: 27 percent
2. One to five: 40 percent
3. Six to 10: 20 percent
4. 11 to 15: 0 percent
5. 16-plus: 13 percent

ASCs (or ASC interests) planned to purchase in the next 12 months:
6. None: 20 percent
7. One to-five: 47 percent
8. Six to 10: 20 percent
9. 11 to 15: 7 percent
10. 16-plus: 7 percent

Observed annual change in commercial payer rates
11. None: 7 percent
12. Less than .9 percent: 0 percent
13. 1 to 1.9 percent: 36 percent
14. 2 to 2.9 percent: 50 percent
15. 3 to 3.9 percent 7 percent

Observed annual change in medical supply and implantable device costs
16. 1 to 1.9 percent: 36 percent
17. 2 to 2.9 percent: 29 percent
18. 3 to 3.9 percent 36 percent

Observed annual change in staff raises
