Benchmarking study from AAAHC on clinical findings for colonoscopy from 49 organizations performing 203,202 colonoscopies between January and June 2016.

1. Pre-procedure time: 11 minutes to 98 minutes from check-in to scope insertion

2. Procedure time: 10 minutes to 27 minutes

3. Discharge time: 6 minutes to 80 minutes

4. Patients reporting minimal or no discomfort during bowel preparation: 71 percent

5. Patients waiting less than one month between scheduling and undergoing procedure: 76 percent

6. Patients comfortable after discharge: 99 percent

7. Patients that report little or no discomfort during the procedure and would recommend it to others: 99 percent

8. Patients reporting they understand the procedure: 100 percent

Esophagogastroduodenoscopy

Benchmarking study from AAAHC on clinical findings for EGD from 33 organizations performing 74,555 EGDs between January and June 2016.

9. Pre-procedure time: 19 minutes to 118 minutes

10. Procedure time: 3 minutes to 18 minutes

11. Discharge time: 16 minutes to 72 minutes

12. Patients that report little or no discomfort during the procedure and would recommend to others: 98 percent

13. Patients who wait less than a month between scheduling their EGD and having the procedure: 86 percent

14. Patients reporting being comfortable after discharge: 99 percent

15. Patients who report understanding the procedure: 100 percent
