Many ASCs are being forced to shift the way they operate as practice costs soar and payer reimbursement rates sink.

Physician practices are increasingly closing amid financial hardships and market challenges.

Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare's ASC strategy is driven by "greenfield developments," new facility constructions, along with targeted acquisitions, CEO Sam Hazen said in a third quarter earnings report transcribed by the Motley Fool.

Dallas-based United Surgical Partners International, Tenet Healthcare's ASC business, third quarter revenue hit $1.13 billion, a 21% increase from the same quarter last year, according to financial documents published Oct. 29.

Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare plans to add 100 outpatient facilities by the end of 2024, bringing total sites of care to more than 2,600, according to a third quarter earnings report transcribed by the Motley Fool.
