The highest-paid ophthalmologist in Austin, Texas, earns $671,100 per year, according to Medscape's salary reporter tool, which is much higher than the mean annual wage of $312,120 ophthalmologists make according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Healthgrades released its rankings for the best hospitals in the U.S. for outpatient joint replacements, including seven in Texas.

Asad Torabi, MD, an interventional cardiologist, joined Mishawaka, Ind.-based Franciscan Physician Network, according to an Aug. 14 report by Portage.Life.

Healthgrades released its rankings for the best hospitals in the U.S. for cardiac care in 2024, including four in Michigan.

University Hospitals in Cleveland added Bernardo Cortese, MD, as co-director of the UH Harrington Heart & Vascular Institute's Coronary Center.

Physicians earn an average salary of $302,110 in Minnesota, the best state for healthcare. 

There are 145,740 active physician assistants, 3,175,390 active registered nurses and 280,140 active nurse practitioners across the U.S., according to data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
