8 Statistics on Registered Nurse Compensation

Here are statistics on the earnings of registered nurses from the Bureau of Labor Statistics' Occupational Outlook Handbook: 2010-2011 Edition.

 

1. Median annual earnings of registered nurses was $62,450 in May 2008.
2. Median annual earnings of the lowest 10 percent earned less than $43,410.
3. Median annual earning of the highest 10 percent earned more than $92,240.
4. Median annual earnings of those employed by employment services was $68,160.
5. Median annual earnings of those employed by general medical and surgical hospitals was $63,880.
6. Median annual earnings of those employed by physician offices was $59,210.
7. Median annual earnings of those employed by home healthcare services was $58,740.
8. Median annual earnings of those employed by nursing care facilities was $57,060.
