The celebration occured in August, according to Administrator and Missouri Ambulatory Surgery Center Association board member Angie Worley. Here are five things to know about West Plains Surgery Center:
1. Since opening, physicians have performed more than 25,000 procedures at the ASC.
2. Specialties at the surgery center include ophthalmology, orthopedics, gynecology, otolaryngology, gneral surgery, pain management, endoscopy and plastic surgery.
3. The surgery center has accreditation from the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care and is part of the Howell Valley Medical Park.
4. There are 10 physicians involved in the center.
5. Along with Ms. Worley as administrator, Shirley Kilinger, RN, CNOR, leads the center as the clinical nurse manager.
