Sacramento, Calif.-based Sutter Health temporarily closed 15 centers, three surgery centers and halted its at home care program in response to the California forest fires.
Here's what you should know:
1. Sutter closed Santa Rosa (Calif.) Surgery and Endoscopy Center; Novato, Calif.-based North Bay Regional Surgery Center; and Sutter Fairfield (Calif.) Surgery Center.
2. The locations closed Oct. 9, and will remain closed until further notice. For more information, click here.
3. Sutter had to transfer all patients from Sutter Santa Rosa (Calif.) Hospital because road closures made the hospital inaccessible.
4. Kaiser Permanente also closed its Santa Rosa (Calif.) Medical Center in response to the fire. Kaiser Permanente cancelled all prescheduled procedures at the medical center and at three medical offices. For more information, click here.
5. Sutter Health President and CEO Sarah Krevans said in a statement, "Like many of you I woke up this morning to the news of the fires spreading throughout Northern California. I was particularly concerned to learn we had to evacuate our hospital in Santa Rosa and that [our] colleagues at Kaiser Permanente also had to evacuate their medical center." She added that Sutter would update its patients as to when the facilities will reopen.
