SCA partners with Gladiolus Surgery Center, Tenet completes $575M sale of Atlanta hospitals — 6 key notes

Here are six updates on ASC companies from the past week.  

Surgical Care Affiliates partnered with Gladiolus Surgery Center in Fort Myers, Fla. Through the partnership, SCA will now operate four ASCs and more than 30 physicians in southwest Florida.

Britt Reynolds will begin his role as Medical Facilities Corporation's CEO on May 1. MFC initially had a June 1 start date for Mr. Reynolds. MFC owns and manages an ASC in California as well as four specialty surgical hospitals throughout South Dakota, Arkansas and Oklahoma.

Tenet Healthcare completed the sale of its five Atlanta-area hospitals to WellStar Health System. The $575 million deal went into effect on March 31.

During the week of April 11 to April 15, Hospital Corporation of America shares traded at $80.33 per share, up 1.5 percent.

AmSurg and Stop Colon Cancer Now sponsored Fight Colorectal Cancer's One Million Strong Showcase in Nashville on April 1. The event featured three panels centered on raising awareness of cancer, sharing personal stories and treating colorectal cancer.

On May 5, Surgery Partners will release its first quarter 2016 results at the end of market close. As of Dec. 31, 2015, the company had cash and cash equivalents of $57.9 million.
