Rep. Grace Meng joins support for Ambulatory Surgical Center Quality and Access Act of 2015: 4 key notes

U.S. Representative Grace Meng (D-NY) joined the group of legislators supporting the Ambulatory Surgical Center Quality and Access Act of 2015, according to ASCA.

Here are four things to know:

1. The Ambulatory Surgical Center Quality and Access Act of 2015 now has 93 cosponsors in the House of Representatives and eight cosponsors in the Senate.

2. The legislation addresses the disparity between ASC and hospital outpatient department payments.

3. ASCA plans to continue efforts on behalf of the legislation in 2017 and hopes to reintroduce the bill.

4. ASCA encourages ASC members to advocate on behalf of the industry to their representatives. The organization is coordinating National Advocacy Day on May 3 or May 4 for industry members to travel to Capitol Hill to educate their representatives on ASC issues.
