Twenty years ago, Rapid City (S.D.) Same Day Surgery Center brought outpatient surgical services to the community, according to KOTA News.
Here are four things to know:
1. The ambulatory surgery center was the first facility to offer outpatient surgical services to Rapid City residents.
2. In 2016, the ASC scored in the top 95th percentile for outpatient care.
3. Rapid City Same Day Surgery also ranked in the top 99th percentile for excellence in inpatient care this year.
4. Doris Frittis is the ASC's executive director and believes hiring the right staff is essential for the center's success. Ms. Frittis told KOTA News, "I firmly believe in hiring the right people and putting them in the right places. All of my staff truly care about patients. They got into nursing because they love people and want to see their health improve."
