Here are five things to know:
1. Pamplona is purchasing MedAssets for approximately $2.7 billion.
2. Following the acquisition, Pamplona will divest MedAssets’ Spend and Clinical Resource Management segment to VHA-UHC Alliance.
3. It will also combine MedAssets’ Revenue Cycle Management segment, which currently serves more than 2,700 hospital clients, with Precyse, a Pamplona-owned health information management services company.
4. MedAssets and Precyse already have a strategic partnership and share a number of customers.
5. The combined entity aims to will offer end-to-end RCM and health information management solution.
