Ohio physician-owned surgical hospital marks 10 years, looks forward to expansion

The physician-owned Ohio Valley Surgical Hospital celebrated its 10th anniversary this week, according to the Springfield News-Sun.

Opened as Ohio Valley Medical Center in 2009, the hospital started with 10 employees and has grown to employ over 300 people. Over the years, imaging and physical therapy services have been added at the hospital, along with a breast center.

Hospital President Steve Eisentrager said the hospital hopes to hire 20 to 25 employees every year and continue adding services.

More than 115,000 surgeries have been performed at the hospital, which has nine operating rooms and two procedure rooms.
