Modernizing Medicine upgrades Ophthalmology EHR system — 4 insights

Modernizing Medicine will display its upgraded Ophthalmology EHR system at AAO 2017 in New Orleans, Nov. 11 to Nov. 14.

Here’s what you should know:

1. The upgraded system features the new Image Management solution as well as a Merit-based Incentive Payments System feature.

2. The Image Management solution provides access to diagnostic images and reports. It will interface with several diagnostic imaging devices.

3. Modernizing Medicine also incorporated a MIPS feature that’ll allow clients to collects MIPS data during a clinical exam. Physicians will be able to track their MIPS composite score and benchmark it against peers.

4. Lancaster, S.C.-based The Eye & Laser Center Practice Administrator Noah England said in a release, “We benchmark our providers to MIPS’ standards, and view which testing and procedures we over or underutilize. For example, I can determine how many cataract surgeries our providers performed last month in 25 seconds versus manually searching paper charts or multiple systems to find that information.”
