Man gets life in prison 5 years after fatal stabbings at Good Shepherd ASC

Kyron Rayshawn Templeton, 28, pleaded guilty to murdering two people and injuring three at an ASC in 2013, the Longview News-Journal reports.

On Nov. 26, 2013, Mr. Templeton fatally stabbed two people at what was then Good Shepherd Medical Center's ASC in Longview, Texas, where he had taken his mother for surgery. Gail Sandidge, a nurse, and Harris K. Teel, whose son was undergoing a procedure there, were killed.

A nurse and two visitors were injured in the attack. Mr. Templeton received two concurrent 20-year sentences for assaulting nurse Karen Bobo and visitor Teresa Allison, plus a separate 20-year term for aggravated assault on visitor Melissa Sims.

Mr. Templeton must serve 50 years of his sentences before becoming eligible for parole.
