Lee Memorial officials get update on Coconut Point Medical Village — 5 points

Medical teams with the Lee Memorial Health System are preparing mock layouts of future working space in the Coconut Point Medical Village in Estero, Fla., according to Naples Daily News.

Here are five points:

1. Suzanne Bradach, special projects director, said using space within the 150,000 square-foot complex as efficiently as possible to create an exceptional patient care experience is one of the several guiding principles for developing the outpatient-based medical village.

2. Construction is targeted to begin in 2017 on 31 acres south of Coconut Road near U.S. 41.

3. The project is estimated to cost $70 million for construction only with a total cost of $140 million with all furnishing and equipment.

4. The outpatient medical village will have a 24/7 freestanding emergency room, a surgery center, physicians’ offices, diagnostics, a pharmacy and wellness and rehabilitative services.

5. A meeting is scheduled for Jan. 20 with the state Agency for Health Care Administration to start its review process, said Ms. Bradach.
