Kathy Warner appointed WellCare’s new state president in South Carolina: 5 key notes

WellCare Health Plans, headquartered in Tampa, named Kathy Warner the new state president in South Carolina. The company provides government-sponsored managed care services.

Here are five key notes:

1. Ms. Warner will head WellCare’s Medicaid and Medicare Advantage businesses in South Carolina.

2. She previously held the position of chief operating officer since March 2013.

3. Equipped with more than 28 years of experience in healthcare and healthcare executive roles, Warner was also WellCare’s vice president of field network management for Georgia.

4. Ms. Warner worked as CFO and director of managed care contracting at Columbus Regional Healthcare System before assuming a role at WellCare in 2006.

5. About 67,000 Medicaid members and 31,000 Medicare members in South Carolina use WellCare’s services.

“WellCare’s South Carolina team is focused on serving our members day in and day out, and on working with the states and providers to expand coordinated care to assist more low-income families, seniors and the blind and disabled,” said Ms. Warner.
