1. Gov. Scott claims hospitals will post their reimbursements for every procedure in an effort to prevent price gouging.
2. Gov. Scott’s Commission on Healthcare and Hospital Funding has provided testimony about healthcare pricing and quality at the state’s hospitals since May.
3. In his plan, the governor is seeking an All-Payers Claim Database, allowing all parties such as hospitals, payers and patients to see charges and expenses.
4. State Sen. Rene Garcia, R-Hialeah, opposes the plan, claiming patients are primarily concerned with out-of-pocket costs.
5. The state’s Agency for Health Care Administration would maintain the database.
