Florida talks telehealth: 4 things to know

Florida's House committee on affordable healthcare access signed a proposal allowing medical providers to offer healthcare through telehealth services, according to Florida Politics.

Here are four things to know:

1. The committee passed the bill with a 14-0 vote to introduce the measure as a committee bill.

2. The bill also allows out-of-state licensed medical providers to utilize telehealth services if registered with the Department of Health.

3. The committee proposed the bill to enhance healthcare delivery efficiency and provide an alternative option for residents in rural areas.

4. The Telehealth Association of Florida did not comment fully on the proposed bill but supports the movement to advance telehealth services in the state.
