Female Power: 8 reasons why healthcare industries should target female consumers

With reports stating that women are the primary healthcare decision makers/chief medical officers of a household, healthcare providers must target women as their main demographic, according to a Center for Talent Innovation report.

 Here are eight facts about female decision makers in the healthcare industry: 

1. 94 percent of women make healthcare decisions for themselves.

2. 59 percent of women make healthcare decision for other members of the family.

3. 94 percent of working mothers make decisions for others.

4. Public policy shifts and technological advances have created a $6.5 trillion consumer-centered market.

5. A recent study showed that women define health as being 79 percent "spiritual and emotion well-being" and 77 percent being "physically fit and well-rested."

6. 62 percent of women report not having ample time to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

7. 58 percent of healthcare decision makers do not feel confident in their decisions regarding healthcare.

8. Women report that physicians who foster dialogue and communicate in a clear manner are deemed trustworthy.
