Epic tops Best in KLAS for overall software suite, physician practice vendors: 6 things to know

Salt Lake City-based KLAS research firm named the 2017 Best in KLAS: Software & Services report.

Here are six things to know:

1. Epic received the top ranking for overall software suite for the seventh year in a row. The company also received the top spot among overall physician practice vendors and the Best in KLAS award in eight segments.

2. The top overall IT services firm was Optimum Healthcare IT, which also won on Best in KLAS award.

3. Premier received the overall best in KLAS for healthcare management consulting firms, which was a new category in 2017. The company also received four Best in KLAS awards.

4. Companies that received two Best in KLAS awards include:

• Cerner
• CareTech Solutions
• MedSys Group
• Merge

5. The most improved company was Verity 340B from Verity Solutions, which gained 17 percentage points on the 100-point scale over the previous year. The most improved physician practice product was NextGen Healthcare EPM.

6. Casenet TruCare received the Best in KLAS for care management solutions in the payer solutions segment. Verscend Quality Reporting received the Best in KLAS designation for payer quality analytics and reporting. This was the first year KLAS gave awards for payer solutions.
