Children’s West Surgery Center celebrates 50k surgery — 5 things to know

Knoxville, Tenn.-based Children’s West Surgery Center performed its 50,000th surgery, according to Knoxville News Sentinel.

Here are five things to know:

1. The surgery took place on Dec. 13, 2016.

2. John Little, MD, performed the procedure.

3. Opening its doors more than a decade ago, Children’s West Surgery Center performed its first procedure in 2003.

4. A joint venture between Knoxville-based Children’s Hospital and local surgeons and dentists, the surgery center houses two operating rooms.

5. The 9,822-square-foot facility offer services including ear-nose-throat-or-neck, dental, oral, urology, orthopedic, gastroenterology, ophthalmology and plastic surgeries.
