Céline Dion shows won't go on, for now: Singer to undergo minimally invasive surgery

Céline Dion canceled several weeks of performances because of an ear condition making it difficult to sing. The cancellation was announced on the singer's Facebook page.

She will undergo a minimally invasive surgery to correct a middle ear disorder called Patulous Eustachian Tube. The Eustachian tube, which should stay closed under normal resting conditions, remains open for individuals with PET.

The singer was treating the condition with various ear drop medications, but the treatment recently stopped being effective.

Performances at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas from March 27 through April 18 were canceled, but shows are expected to resume May 22.
