California surgery center named ASC of the year for a second time

Monterey (Calif.) Peninsula Surgery Centers received two awards at the California Ambulatory Surgery Association's 2019 conference.

The business won the 2019 ASC of the Year Award for the second time since 2017, and the award for ASC Excellence in Advocacy, which also recognized its efforts in community service, leadership and quality.

In 2018, surgeons at the ASC performed nearly 17,000 procedures with a complication rate of less than one half of 1 percent. The business uses bundled payments for its procedures and is the largest locally owned and managed ASC in California.
