Advanced Surgery Center has a focus on orthopedics, podiatry and pain management. The center was originally partly owned by SurgCenter Development, but was bought out in October 2008. There are 12 physician owners at the center.
Ms. Summerfelt is a physical therapist by training and led the center through an increased patient volume, which was up 25 percent in 2011.
