AmSurg driving patient engagement through data-based platform — 4 insights

AmSurg is increasing patient engagement through a clinical data-based platform that encourages participation and compliance.

Here's what you should know:

1. AmSurg conducted a multi-center study which showed patient recall rate increased when providers provided them with past clinical data and an enhanced patient experience.

2. AmSurg piloted the program under the Patient Engagement moniker. Participating centers used all available patient recall programs and had rates between zero and 25 percent. After implementing the pilot, recall rates rose to 40 percent.

3. The pilot program uses GIQuIC data and is initially focused on GI patient recall. AmSurg believes the program can be expanded to any specialty in the future.

4. AmSurg Associate Vice President of Patient Contact Solutions Robert Goldstein said in a release, "The exciting potential of this solution is that we will be able to provide our partners with tools that will not be available, or easily replicated, by their competing groups. Not only will this give our partners a competitive advantage, but it will help us in our ongoing aims to better serve our patients and drive down colon cancer mortality rates."
