1. Nashville has many healthcare companies operating out of the city including Hospital Corporation of America and other new start-ups.
2. Nashville-based Jumpstart Foundry, a healthcare-focused investment platform, hosts a 14-week accelerator program for start-ups. The company has graduated 48 companies that have raised more than $31 million in funding in the last six years.
3. In 2014, InvisionHeart joined Jumpstart Foundry's program and has created a compact FDA-approved ECG machine. InvisionHeart has raised $3 million in funding.
4. Many healthcare entrepreneurs are taking their businesses to Nashville because the city has low business cost that rank 5 percent below the national baseline among cities with populations of 1 million to 2 million residents.
5. The Nashville Entrepreneur Center, a nonprofit organization, has an accelerator program to aid potential start-ups in areas such as healthcare. In the past five years, Nashville EC has graduated more than 200 companies.
