Here are seven news updates for ambulatory surgery center leaders to know for June 12, 2014.

Administration to overhaul HealthCare.gov.
The Obama administration is in the process of making a number of changes to HealthCare.gov. The changes are being made to ensure that the problems that affected the exchange website during the fall will not reoccur during the next enrollment period. HealthCare.gov will also being using Amazon's cloud computing services.

4 ASCs add pricing data to PricingHealthcare.com.
The Orthopedic Surgery Center of Orange County in Los Angeles; Monticello Surgery Center in Charlottesville, Va.; the Surgery Centers of ENT Institute in Atlanta; and St. George (Utah) Surgical Center have listed pricing data on the website PricingHealthcare.com in June.

Restoration Eye Care to open Missouri ASC.
Restoration Eye Care, the practice of Timothy McGarity, MD, has broken ground on a new ambulatory surgery center, LASIK clinic and cataract clinic in Columbia, Mo. The new facility is being built in response to growing patient need.

AmSurg shares rise in value after Sheridan deal announcement.
Raymond James analyst John Ransom set AmSurg's price target at $60 and upgraded his recommendation to buy. The upgrade was made closely following AmSurg's announcement of intention to acquire Sheridan Healthcare for $2.35 billion.

Merritt Healthcare advises Connecticut surgery center during transaction.
Merritt Healthcare advised Fairfield (Conn.) Surgery Center during a transaction in which National Surgical Hospitals acquired an ownership stake in the center. Merritt Healthcare advised the surgery center on selection of a purchaser, due diligence and documentation.

U.S. Endoscopy releases new snare.
U.S. Endoscopy, an endoscopy device design and manufacturing company, has released the Lariat snare. The new snare has a multifunctional design that is created to address multiple polyps and resection needs.

Healthcare revenue management and consultation firm in2itive Business Solutions partnered with Medical Recovery Services to develop and manage an exclusive patient estimator tool for hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers. The patient estimator tool is designed to collect patient payments before or at the time of service.
