Oregon Vascular Specialists building new surgery center
Vascular surgeons Jason Jundt, MD, and Wayne Nelson, MD, are building a new surgery center in Bend, Ore. The 11,000-square-foot facility is scheduled to be complete in June. The building will feature offices and an ASC with two operating rooms.

Allscripts to acquire Practice Fusion for $100M
Healthcare technology company Allscripts signed a definitive agreement to acquire Practice Fusion. Allscripts plans to acquire Practice Fusion for $100 million. The transaction is subject to adjustments for working capital and net debt.

New voluntary bundled payment model aims to improve inpatient, outpatient care quality & cost-effectiveness
CMS created a new voluntary inpatient and outpatient bundled payment model, Bundled Payments for Care Improvement Advanced. Participants will have to redesign care delivery to restrain Medicare expenditures into a defined budget, while also improving on or maintaining performance on specific quality measures. The participants are also required to use certified EHR technology.

Southlake-based Texas Digestive Disease Consultants entered into the Houston market through the recently announced addition of Greater Houston Gastroenterology.

Ohio health system acquiring Southwest Ohio Gastroenterology, Clinton County Outpatient Surgery
Wilmington, Ohio-based CMH Regional Health System will acquire Cincinnati-based Southwest Ohio Gastroenterology and Clinton County Outpatient Surgery in Wilmington, effective Feb. 1. CMH is acquiring the group's three Ohio offices.

Blue Ridge Day Surgery Center files for $816k in financing
Raleigh, N.C.-based Blue Ridge Day Surgery Center filed for $816,000 in equity financing. The center has yet to declare what the financing will be for.

Dr. Richard McCallum receives Texas Laureate Award
Richard McCallum, MD, a professor and founding chair of the department of internal medicine at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso, was named a 2017 Laureate by the Texas Chapter of the American College of Physicians.
