The Ambulatory Surgery Center Association reported around 200 new facilities joined the organization in 2017.

Tenet 2018 outlook: Conifer may be sold and net operating revenue to hit $17.8B
Tenet aims to improve financial performance and shareholder value through several changes, including the expansion of its cost reduction program and potentially selling Conifer. The company increased its cost reduction initiative by $100 million, and expects to achieve $250 million of annualized run-rate savings by the end of next year, including around $125 million during the 2018 calendar year.

Physicians Alliance is expected to pay around $4 million to settle claims that it accepted remuneration illegally to refer patients to Healthcare Management Association hospitals. Physicians Alliance executives Lee Meyers, Michael Warren, MD, and Wallace Longton, MD, agreed to resolve allegations of illegal remuneration for patient referrals to Lancaster (Pa.) Regional Medical Center and Heart of Lancaster (Pa.) Medical Center from 2009 to 2012; both are HMA hospitals.
