Here are seven things ASC leaders should know for June 11:

KKR acquiring Envision Healthcare for $9.9B
KKR will acquire Nashville, Tenn.-based Envision Healthcare for about $9.9 billion, or $46 per share. The acquisition was unanimously approved by Envision's board of directors. After low third-quarter 2017 earnings, Envision began an internal review to "enhance shareholder value." Envision's board said a company sale was being considered. Agreeing to be acquired by KKR is the culmination of that review.

Central Indiana Orthopedics constructing $52M medical campus with surgery center
Muncie-based Central Indiana Orthopedics is constructing a 37-acre medical campus with a surgery center and medical office space. The practice plans to use $13 million to acquire the land and start construction on the first of several buildings. The entire campus could cost up to $52 million.

Hamilton Eye Institute Surgery Center to provide free cataract surgeries
Memphis-based Tennessee Health Science Center's Hamilton Eye Institute Surgery Center will host the second-annual Ivan Marais Cataract-A-Thon June 15 and 16. The center plans to provide free cataract surgery worth $150,000 to more than 50 patients. Patients will receive screening, comprehensive eye exams, surgeries and follow-up care.

AP Surgery Center owner pays $718k after defrauding New Jersey charity fund
Edison, N.J.-based AP Surgery Center owner Harshad Patel agreed to pay New Jersey $718,000 to settle allegations he defrauded the state's Charity Care Fund by underreporting gross receipts. Mr. Patel owns AP Surgery Center as well as three diagnostic centers. He allegedly underreported annual gross receipts evading more than $1 million in Charity Care Fund-earmarked assessments.

U of Florida Health opening mall-based outpatient centers
Gainesville, Fla.-based UF Health will open two outpatient centers in The Oaks Mall in Gainesville. UF Health plans to move its ophthalmology and ENT departments into the retail space formerly occupied by Sears.

Carolinas Center for Ambulatory Dentistry sinks teeth into ASC project
Charlotte, N.C.-based Carolinas Center for Ambulatory Dentistry broke ground on an 11,000-square-foot dental surgery center, also in Charlotte. The new facility will have two operating rooms, two procedure rooms, four post-op, pre-op and private exam rooms, six semi-private recovery areas and a nurse station.

Wexner Medical Center picks site near competitors for outpatient complex
Columbus-based Ohio State University's Wexner Medical Center selected a second location for a network of outpatient complexes with ASCs and medical offices. The health system is eyeing 29.6 acres in Liberty Township, Ohio, for $8 million.
