Healthcare employee confidence in their field and job security rebounded in the fourth quarter of 2014, up from the preceding period. Here are six things to know from the Randstad Healthcare Employee Confidence Index.

1. The survey included physicians, nurses, administrators and other healthcare professionals. The information was collected from October to December 2014.

2. Employee confidence, at 54.3 in the third quarter of 2014, rose to 57 in the fourth quarter.

3.  Employee confidence in the overall strength of the economy rose to 42.9 in the fourth quarter.

4. 56 percent of healthcare employees have confidence in their ability to find a new job, up from 49 percent in the third quarter.

5. 24 percent of healthcare employees believe the economy is growing stronger, up from 19 percent in the third quarter.

6. "As providers contend with top-line revenue constraints, operating margin compressions and the strain of healthcare reform readiness activities, they are focusing more on value and delivering the best possible health outcomes at a given level of cost. To succeed in competing on outcomes, providers will seek out healthcare professionals who can deliver high-quality care and work towards a common goal of balancing cost and quality," said Steve McMahan, president of Randstad Healthcare.
