5 Steps to Take When Dealing With an Underperforming Employee

Here are the five steps:

1. Document the performance problems you observe.
2. Meet with the employee in a confidential location to discuss the problem.
3. Set clear expectations and inform the employee.
4. Offer training and other resources to assist the employee.
5. Follow up with the employee on a regular basis.
