According to Navicure’s “Ambulatory Surgery Center Patient Collections Survey: Key Survey Findings and Action Items” report, patient revenue represents nearly $11 billion annually. Here are five key findings:
1. Greater than 41 percent of total revenue is patient revenue: 9 percent of ASCs
2. From 31 percent to 40 percent: 34 percent of ASCs
3. From 21 percent to 30 percent: 38 percent of ASCs
4. From 11 percent to 20 percent: 17 percent of ASCs
5. From 0 percent to 10 percent: 1 percent of ASCs
There were 1 percent of respondents who didn’t know the portion of total revenue coming from patients today. Despite the amount of revenue coming from patients, nearly half of the respondents put patient billing and collections as just a medium priority and 19 percent said it was a low priority.
