4th Street Laser & Surgery Center’s Dr. Gary Barth accepts award on behalf of charity care organization: 5 points

Gary Barth, MD, of the 4th Street Laser & Surgery Center in Santa Rosa, Calif., accepted a Make a Difference Day All-Star Award for Operation Access in honor of the organization’s efforts to provide charity care to underserved populations in the Bay Area, according to a North Bay Business Journal report.

Here are five points:

1. The Make A Difference Day awards celebrate top volunteer efforts for service projects completed on Make A Difference Day. TEGNA and Gannett in partnership with Newman’s Own and Points of Light offer the awards.

2. Dr. Barth accepted the award for Operation Access as well as a $10,000 check at a ceremony in Washington, D.C.

3. 4th Street Laser & Surgery Center was one of five healthcare organizations that participated at the last Make A Difference Day.

4. Dr. Barth and his team performed 30 free eye surgeries.

5. The surgery center includes four physicians.
