4 ways ASCs should be leveraging hospital partnerships

The Association of periOperative Registered Nurses and Joan Dentler, president and CEO of Avanza Healthcare Strategies, outlined four ways ASCs can take advantage of their relationship with a hospital in an AORN blog post.

Here are the key details to know:

1. Hospitals can help ASCs expand through increased funding and support, especially in states that require a certificate of need.

2. Hospitals may be able to help ASCs with payer contracting, due to potentially stronger relationships with payers.

3. Physician recruitment can be made easier through using the hospital's marketing, advertising and outreach influence.

4. Hospitals may also be able to help ASCs negotiate with supply chain vendors for lower rates through group purchasing organizations.
