3 ways surgery centers can promote services during national ASC month

Designated by the Ambulatory Surgery Center Association, August is national ASC month, an opportunity for ASCs to raise awareness of their facilities and the services they offer.

Three ways ASCs can self-promote:

1. Host an elected official or prospective patients. ASC staff can sign up on the association’s website to host an elected official or patient open house to familiarize the local community and government with the benefits ASCs provide.

2. Publicize quality measures. ASCs can make the results of quality improvement surveys public to show the level of care they provide at the facility, Surgical Information Systems suggests. That way, when local families need an outpatient procedure, the ASC will be top of mind.

3. Participate in community healthcare events. Being visible in the community can help raise an ASC’s profile by promoting its ability to provide high quality care at a lower price than hospitals.
