Baptist Physicians Surgery Center (Lexington, Ky.).
Baptist Physicians Surgery Center includes eight operating rooms and six procedure rooms. The multispecialty ASC was founded in 2002 on the campus of Central Baptist Hospital and is accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care. Surgeons perform more than 13,000 total cases in the surgery center annually. Specialties include minimally invasive spine surgery, otolaryngology, ophthalmology, oral surgery, orthopedic surgery, urology and pain management.

Cedar Lake Surgery Center (Biloxi, Miss.). Cedar Lake Surgery Center was initially established in 1977 as the first freestanding outpatient surgery center in the state. It has since moved into a 16,000-square-foot facility that includes six operating rooms and two procedure rooms. The surgery center can accommodate for 23-hour stays and has separate areas for endoscopy and pain management procedures. Equipment at the surgery center includes Instatrac sinus surgery computer system, laser technology and arthroscopic equipment. The physicians have a special interest in gastroenterology, ophthalmology, orthopedic sports medicine and other medical procedures.

The Center for Special Surgery (San Antonio).
The Center for Special Surgery was opened in 2007 and includes six operating rooms, eight preoperative bays and 19 recovery bays. Surgeons perform orthopedics, hand surgery, pain management, otolaryngology, podiatry and plastic surgery cases at the ASC. The surgery center includes 70 board-certified physicians and 12 of them are physician partners. The surgery center is also affiliated with the Texas Center for Athletes.

Clear Creek Surgery Center (Wheat Ridge, Colo.).
Clear Creek Surgery Center includes five operating rooms and a pain center. The 14,000-square-foot facility also includes a pre-operative room and recovery room. The surgery center is located near Lutheran Medical Center and includes general surgery, orthopedics, otolaryngology, ophthalmology and pain management services. The facility is accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care and Medicare-certified. Clear Creek Surgery Center is affiliated with HealthOne.

Crystal Run Ambulatory Surgery Center (Middletown, N.Y.).
Crystal Run Ambulatory Surgery Center is a joint venture between Crystal Run Healthcare and Orange Regional Medical Center that includes five high-tech operating rooms and two endoscopy procedure rooms. The surgery center includes gastroenterology, orthopedic, pain management, otolaryngology, urology, gynecology, plastic surgery and general surgery services. Procedures include knee and shoulder arthroscopy, hernia repairs, liposuction and sinus surgeries. The surgery center also includes an on-site café and a separate waiting area for juveniles.

Hudson Crossing Surgery Center (Fort Lee, N.J.).
Hudson Crossing Surgery Center opened in 2005 and includes a 14-bed post-anesthesia care unit providing for up to 23 hours postoperative stays. The surgery center has five operating rooms and has treated more than 30,000 patients since its inception. The surgery center is managed by Surgery Works and surgeons at the center specialize in ENT, orthopedics, neurosurgery, ophthalmology, spine, pain management and urology. The center is accredited by the Accreditation Association of Ambulatory Health Care and includes the Medtronic Fusion Navigation and Sinus Irrigation ENT equipment, Zeiss microscopes for spine and ENT procedures and Lumenis Holminum Laser Lithotripsy equipment.

Iowa City (Iowa) Ambulatory Surgery Center.
Iowa City Ambulatory Surgery Center opened in September 2008 and includes six operating rooms. The facility is partnered with Surgical Management Professionals and includes otolaryngology, orthopedics, pain management, spine surgery, general surgery, plastic surgery, ophthalmology and gynecology procedures. In 2010/2011, the surgery center received the APEDX Quality Award and is lead by Executive Director Kelly Durian. Thomas Simpson, MD, is the chairman of the board of directors for Iowa City Ambulatory Surgery Centers and a partner with ENT Medical Services in Iowa City.

Lakes Surgery Center (West Bloomfield, Mich.).
Anne Hargrave-Thomas is the president of the Michigan Ambulatory Surgery Center Association and administrator at Lakes Surgery Center in West Bloomfield, Mich. The 23,000-square-foot facility was established in 2002 and achieved accreditation through the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care. The facility includes six major operating rooms and one procedure room. The physicians on staff at the surgery center bring several different cases into the facility, including general surgery, orthopedic surgery, plastic surgery, urology, podiatry and pain management.

Lakeland (Fla.) Surgical and Diagnostic Center.
Lakeland Surgical and Diagnostic Center is a large independently-owned, freestanding, multispecialty ambulatory surgery center opened in 1996. The surgery center was a partnership between a large local medical center, two multispecialty group practices and two independent physicians. It includes six operating rooms, five procedure rooms and 45 pre- and post-op beds. The surgery center includes otolaryngology, breast surgery, general surgery, orthopedics, pain management and urology, among other procedures. It is accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care.

Lakewalk Surgery Center (Duluth, Minn.)
. Lakewalk Surgery Center is a multispecialty ASC opened in 1999. The surgery center includes six operating rooms, three procedure rooms and 18 private recovery areas. The surgery center is accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care and Medicare-certified. The surgery center performs cases in gastroenterology, oral surgery, ophthalmology, pain management and orthopedics.

Methodist Ambulatory Surgery Center—Northeast (San Antonio).
The Methodist Ambulatory Surgery Center—Northeast includes five operating rooms and two treatment rooms. Surgeons perform orthopedics, otolaryngology, general surgery, gynecology, ophthalmology, plastic surgery, oral surgery and pain management procedures. The surgery center also includes two semi-private rooms with overnight stay capabilities. The surgery center is located adjacent to Northeast Methodist Hospital.

Midtown Surgical Center (Denver).
Midtown Surgical Center can accommodate 23-hour stay patients at its multispecialty ASC. The surgery center has eight pre-operative stations, five operating rooms, one minor procedure room and three GI endoscopy suites. Surgeons at the ASC perform orthopedic surgery, plastic surgery, urological procedures, ophthalmology, ENT and pain management. The facility is accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care. It was founded in 1995 and is a HealthOne facility.

Michigan Endoscopy Center (Farmington Hill, Mich.).
Michigan Endoscopy Center specializes in all types of GI procedures, including colonoscopy, upper endoscopy and EGD. MEC has six operating rooms and 16 physicians who perform approximately 16,900 procedures annually. According to the mission statement of the center, MEC is dedicated to promoting a high quality of endoscopic services by maintaining an environment that is conducive to the provision of safe, efficient endoscopic procedures by ensuring that safe and effective equipment and supplies are available for physicians and staff.

Mississippi Surgical Center (Jackson).
Mississippi Surgical Center was founded in 1987 and includes six operating rooms. The 25,509-square-foot surgery center also includes five specialty rooms and a recovery area with four patient beds for 23-hour stays. There are 100 physicians who have privileges at the surgery center with specialties including gynecology, ophthalmology, orthopedics, plastic surgery, pain management and otolaryngology. The surgery center is one of the largest in the state and in 2008 physicians performed around 8,800 procedures annually.

Newport Beach (Calif.) Surgery Center.
Newport Beach Surgery Center opened in September 1992 and currently has five operating rooms, two special procedure rooms, a PACU with seven bays and two private extended stay rooms for patients who spend 23 hours at the surgery center. Led by Administrator Buffy Davis, the free standing ASC is 100 percent physician owned and accredited by the American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities. Services performed at the surgery center include general surgery, gastroenterology, gynecology, orthopedics, urology and vascular surgery.

Northwest Michigan Surgery Center (Traverse City). Northwest Michigan Surgery Center opened in 2004 and includes six operating rooms. The 90,000-square-foot facility has 80 board certified or board eligible physicians and 43 anesthesia providers. The surgery center treats 17,000 patients annually and also includes four procedure rooms and five extended stay rooms. The surgery center is accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care and includes surgeons specializing in otolaryngology, gastrointestinal care, gynecology, orthopedic surgery and urology.

Northwest Orthopedic Specialists (Spokane, Wash.).
Northwest Orthopedic Specialists is a 27-member group that includes a 20,000-square-foot ambulatory surgery center. The ASC has five full operating rooms and two pain treatment rooms where physicians and surgeons perform more than 500 surgeries and 400 pain cases per month. The current group was formed through a merger between Associated Orthopaedic Specialists and Northwest Orthopaedic and Fracture Clinic in 2001, with the history of both practices dating back to the 1950s. Additional services at the practice include digital imaging and MRI.

Red Hills Surgical Center (Tallahassee, Fla.). The Red Hills Surgical Center includes five operating rooms and is a joint venture between Tallahassee Memorial Hospital and 35 local physicians from multiple area practices. The 17,000-square-foot facility also has several pre-operative rooms and recovery rooms. Specialties represented at the surgery center include orthopedic surgery, general surgery, otolaryngology and obstetrics and gynecology. The building also includes an educational observation room adjacent to one of the operating rooms where high school students, nursing and medical students can observe operations. The surgery center is led by President Duncan Postma, MD.

Regional SurgiCenter (Moline, Ill.).
Regional SurgiCenter has eight operating rooms and plans to add two to four additional operating rooms over the next year. Surgeons perform gastroenterology, plastic surgery, general surgery and otolaryngology procedures on a routine basis and have plans to add podiatry, orthopedics, urology, gynecology and ophthalmology procedures during the expansion next year. The surgery center also includes in-house pathology, anesthesia and imaging services. Led by President Rao Movva, MD, the surgery center is located within the same facility as Heartland Clinic and serves patients from the Illinois and Iowa Quad Cities area.

Strictly Pediatrics Surgery Center (Austin, Texas). Strictly Pediatrics Surgery Center began in 2006 and includes five operating rooms and 30 pre-operative and recovery room bays. The surgery center has been affiliated with ASD Management and is accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care. The surgery center has 36 physician owners as well as Seton Healthcare Network affiliations. The surgery center is run by administrative director Stephanie L. Stinson and includes pediatric orthopedics, otolaryngology, general surgery, plastics, ophthalmology and urology.

The Surgery Center (Middleburg Heights, Ohio).
The Surgery Center was founded by local surgeons in 1984 and includes 23-hour beds for patients undergoing complex procedures. There are six operating rooms, two procedure rooms and four extended stay beds in the 20,000-square-foot facility. Extended recovery care at the center includes semi-private rooms with TV, DVD and private phone lines. The physicians specialize in ENT, general surgery, gastroenterology, gynecology, orthopedics, pain management, plastic surgery and urology. The surgery center is accredited by the Joint Commission. The facility currently includes 76 credentialed physicians and performs approximately 6,000 cases per year.

Surgery Center of Allentown (Pa.).
Surgery Center of Allentown opened in April 2007 and now includes seven operating rooms. The ambulatory surgery center was a joint venture between physicians and Ambulatory Surgical Centers of America. Surgeons at the center specialize in otolaryngology, gastrointestinal procedures general surgery, orthopedic surgery, pain management and plastic surgery, among others. There are 24 physicians and surgeons affiliated with the center.

Surgery Center of Reno (Nev.).
Surgery Center of Reno includes five operating rooms and two procedure rooms with the ability to accommodate for 23-hour stays. The surgery center consists of physician partners who have majority ownership, Saint Mary's Hospital in Reno and managing partner Regent Surgical Health. The surgery center includes orthopedics, pain management, general surgery and bariatric surgery, among other procedures. It has achieved accreditation from the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care and is led by administrator Ann Roberts. Spine surgeon James Lynch, MD, is president and chairman of the board of directors for Surgery Center of Reno.

SurgiCenter of Baltimore.
SurgiCenter of Baltimore was opened in 1989 and includes five operating rooms, two procedure rooms and seven recovery beds. The 11,500-square-foot facility includes a staff of 27 professionals and is accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care. Services at the surgery center include general surgery, otolaryngology, gynecology and port removal for chemotherapy patients. Surgeons also perform pain management, gastroenterology, orthopedic surgery and ophthalmology procedures.

Wayne (N.J.) Surgical Center.
Wayne Surgical Center opened in 1999 with five operating rooms and then acquired Elite Surgical Center in May 2007, which has one operating room. The surgery center is 100 percent physician-owned and has grown from its original seven owners to more than 40 physician owners. Services at Wayne Surgical Center include plastic surgery, general surgery, orthopedics, pain management and gastroenterology. Surgeons perform joint replacements, fracture care, sports injury treatment and other minimally invasive procedures.

Yellowstone Surgery Center (Billings, Mont.).
Yellowstone Surgery Center was opened in 2002 with four operating rooms and two procedure rooms; the surgery center now includes six operating rooms and one procedure room. There were 50 founding physician partners and St. Vincent Healthcare is a 50 percent partner in the ASC. Services at the surgery center include orthopedics, otolaryngology, pain management, plastic surgery, general surgery, podiatry and oral surgery. The surgery center received the Montana Worksite Health Promotion Coalition Gold Award as an employer that has a comprehensive worksite wellness program and takes steps toward improving employee health and productivity over time.
