Yale New Haven Hospital breaks ground on musculoskeletal-focused ASC: 5 points

Yale New Haven (Conn.) celebrated the groundbreaking of McGivney Surgical Center in New Haven, according to New Haven Independent.

Here are five points:

1. The surgery center will offer musculoskeletal care.

2. McGivney Surgical Center will house six operating rooms, 23 prep and post-operative recovery beds and an eight-seated patient alcove.

3. The $7 million ASC will offer therapeutic evaluation for return home and will roll out Virtual Exercise Rehabilitation Assistant, a remote rehabilitation program.

4. Yale New Haven Health President Richard D’Aquila expects the ASC to bring in 3,000 patients annually.

5. Yale Health aims to revive the Saint Raphael Campus with the center. The surgery center coincides with the health system’s mission to offer holistic care.
