San Antonio-based The Wilford Hall Eye Center united the U.S. Air Force’s 59th Medical Wing’s department of ophthalmology and optometry as well as the Joint Warfighter Refractive Surgery Center, Dvids reports.

Here’s what you should know:

1. The Wilford Hall Eye Center is housed in the Department of Defense’s largest outpatient clinic and surgical facility, San Antonio-based Wilford Hall Ambulatory Surgical Center.

2. Reorganized groups will allow patients to be treated for the full spectrum of eye care in one place.

3. The Wilford Hall Eye Center is 15,700 square feet. It features 62 exam rooms.

4. The DOD sees 32,000 patients annually and performs nearly 4,000 surgeries.
