1. Hospitals and health systems. Strategy for these entities is now including ASCs where they had previously been left out, as the ASC fits comfortably into value-based care schemas.
2. ASC management and development companies. Level of ownership varies, but management and development companies tend to have the same goals as ASC physician partners.
3. Physicians and physician groups. Individuals and groups remain a main player in the ASC transaction industry.
4. Private equity firms. This group is newer to ASC acquisition but generally seeks to purchase multiple ASCs in a given transaction.
