WellSpan breaks ground on 80k-sq-ft health center with outpatient surgical suite — 5 insights

York, Pa.-based WellSpan Health initiated construction on its 80,000-square-foot health center in Penn Township, Pa., Nov. 14, Fox 43 reports.

Here’s what you should know:

1. The $49 million health center was announced in August.

2. The center will have an outpatient surgical suite, a laboratory and imaging services.

3. Developers will first build the surgery suite. It will contain four operating rooms, four specialty procedure rooms and more than 23 preoperative and postoperative patient rooms.

4. The suite will offer bariatric, gastrointestinal, oncological, gynecological and orthopedic services.

5. The hospital expects to open the entire facility by the fall of 2018.
