Timothy McGarry, MD, is closing his Abingdon, Va.-based independent practice, McGarry Orthopedic Clinic, to join Montgomery Orthopedics, part of LewisGale Physicians, in Blacksburg, Va., according to a Nov. 4 post on the practice’s Facebook page.
Dr. McGarry has practiced orthopedic surgery in Southwest Virginia for more than 35 years. The clinic’s last day of routine patient care is Nov. 20, and he expects to start at Montgomery Orthopedics on Dec. 1. Patients may follow him to Blacksburg or move their care closer to home, and the practice said it will help with those transitions.
“Although McGarry Orthopedic Clinic will be closing, I want to reassure you that I am not retiring,” Dr. McGarry wrote. “I still have a tremendous love for orthopedic surgery and for caring for patients, and I look forward to continuing that calling for several more years.”
At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
