VA opens Missouri-based outpatient clinic — 3 insights

The Department of Veterans Affairs will open The Gene Taylor Community Based Outpatient Clinic in Springfield, Mo., Jan. 24, the Springfield News-Leader reports.

Here’s what you should know:

1. The VA constructed the clinic to replace a facility in Mount Vernon, Mo. The organization expects to build another outpatient clinic in Joplin, Mo. in the coming months

2. The VA expects approximately 14,000 veterans will use the clinics in Mount Vernon and Joplin.

3. Construction started on the Springfield clinic in October 2016.
