The center, called the Gavin Herbert Eye Institute, will cost approximately $37 million and house Orange County’s only academic eye center. In addition to surgical and exam rooms, the facility will feature an optical shop, faculty offices and a conference space.
It will also serve as an education center for students with access to clinical trials and treatments. The building will be 70,000 square feet and paid for entirely through private donations.
