Here’s what you need to know.
1. The center is a joint venture between the two health systems. Polyclinic will manage the day-to-day operations.
2. The center is 36,000 square feet and has 12 operating rooms and 32 postoperative rooms. Two of the ORs are dedicated to eye surgery.
3. The center will have more than 100 medical professionals on its surgery staff.
4. In addition to the wealth of operating rooms, the center will feature the most “technically advanced sterile processing units to sterilize instruments and equipment before surgery.”
5. Surgeons at the center will perform a variety of procedures including: breast surgery, orthopedic surgery, plastic surgery and urology.
6. The center can accommodate up to 140 surgeons and up to 15,000 surgeries per year.
