Texas Surgery Center Included in UHS Acquisition of Knapp Medical Center

Universal Health Services, based in King of Prussia, Pa., has announced it will acquire Knapp Medical Center in Weslaco, Texas, an acquisition that includes Knapp Surgery Center in Weslaco, according to a UHS news release.

In the acquisition, UHS acquires the surgery center, a 226-bed acute-care hospital, Mid Valley Physician Association, Knapp Medical Group, a physician group practice, and various other real estate assets.

 

Knapp Surgery Center is a multispecialty outpatient surgery center with specialties that include general surgery, gynecology, ophthalmology, orthopedics, ENT and urology, according to the ASC’s website.
