Tennessee officials receive CONs for 2 ASCs: 7 things to know

The Tennessee Health Services and Development Agency is considering certificate-of-need applications for two ASCs, according to Lexology.

Here are seven things to know.

1. The department received an application to build Saint Thomas Surgery Center in New Salem, Tenn.

2. Saint Thomas Surgery Center, a multispecialty ASC, would house two operating rooms and one procedure room.

3. The ASC would encompass 14,500 square feet and has an estimated cost of nearly $16.23 million.

4. The agency is also considering a request to establish StoneCrest Surgery Center in Smyrna, Tenn.

5. The multispecialty ASC carries a projected cost of almost $10.56 million.

6. StoneCrest Surgery Center would include one procedure room and two operating rooms.

7. There are 160-plus ASCs in the state.
