1. The department received an application to build Saint Thomas Surgery Center in New Salem, Tenn.
2. Saint Thomas Surgery Center, a multispecialty ASC, would house two operating rooms and one procedure room.
3. The ASC would encompass 14,500 square feet and has an estimated cost of nearly $16.23 million.
4. The agency is also considering a request to establish StoneCrest Surgery Center in Smyrna, Tenn.
5. The multispecialty ASC carries a projected cost of almost $10.56 million.
6. StoneCrest Surgery Center would include one procedure room and two operating rooms.
7. There are 160-plus ASCs in the state.
